From the dizzy high oil prices of July 2008 ($147 per bbl) to the super low prices in Feb 2009 ($35 per bbl), the oil industry fell from a cliff, and so did the jobs in the industry. The oil&gas engineering industry in UK suffered the most since projects dried up suddenly, hitting a low point in/around Mar 2009. This dismal picture has improved a bit now, and we expect the UK engineering contractors to start hiring by Q3-2009 and get back to normalcy by Q1-2010.
What do you think? Any opinions welcome?

How times have changed from the low of 2009, and with the oil price back above $100 per bbl, and oil&gas contractors getting busier (though not all of them) although very selective in hiring.
